As reported in the Dallas Morning News 7/8/12, there are some cities in the North Texas area, specifically the North Dallas Suburbs, that are once again experiencing a housing boom.
I'm sure many of you have seen the reports over the last several years, of Frisco and McKinney being among the fastest growing cities in the U.S., but did you know that North Texas was home to FIVE of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.?
Frisco's Department of Development Services has reported they are forecasting 1,300 to 1,500 new building permits for 2012 and even anticipate exceeding that amount.
McKinney also saw an increase in building permits and reported a 25 percent increase from what was given in 2011. They have reported, just over the last 2 months, the permit applications they have received are 50 percent higher than the same months last year.
Based on the amount of new subdivisions, I count 8 now, that are popping up all over the Frisco area, I would say the Housing Boom has already started! With all this new construction, look for commercial to follow soon.
Still in the rumor mill and the Frisco Planning and Zoning office, is the anticipated outdoor mall which is expected to be a merge of Firewheel and Shops of Legacy, still mapped for Hwy 380 and the Tollroad, on the Frisco side.
